PassioneVespa is a simple web application that offers an archive of vintage Vespas (with chassis numbers and color), a calendar of gatherings and events, and historical documentation.

I built this project because I’m a Vespa enthusiast (I have a 1973 Vespa 50 Special) and I wanted to create a platform where it’s easy to find information, since there are a lot of different sources and it’s hard to find everything in one place.

The features of the app include:

• 📁 archive with precise details on colors by year and frame numbers
• 📅 calendar of gatherings and events
• 📜 historical documentation with manuals, advertisements, and vintage brochures

Tech stack

• Frontend: Next.js with TypeScript, Chakra UI
• Backend: Vercel Edge Functions
• Database: PostgreSQL NeonDB
• Image Storage: Cloudflare R2

I gathered all the data from a lot of different sources with the help of scraping and other data gathering tools.

I started the project in August of 2023 and deployed it in November.
